Farmer's Plight

The bread that fills our belly

The spices which trigger the buds naturally

The juicy fruits we taste

Does it come before us in haste ?

No ,no ,

It comes when Mother earth becomes pregnant of  the seeds

As a fruit of good manly deeds

The sky showers the rain and pour the dew

Comes out the shoots new

Earth wears  a green spangled  gown and sari and smiles in joy

And it comes only  when farmer tills the earth  with hard plough

And  toils for hours and days

During winter ,heavy rain and even in  stinging sun rays

His clothes are drenched with  saline body drops

Like spring  running on slops

Then come the sweet crops

But people treats him with  cannons and bats

Like ants and rats

To the capitalist delight

Forgetting the farmer's plight

But never try to dismiss his right

For price fair for his children' future  bright

He may turn day into night

As he also knows his might
